Due to changing regulations, The Beer Store had growing competition through the newly permitted, ultra-convenient grocery stores. The Beer Store decided to evolve its store experience and create a marketing campaign that would resonate with its clients.

The process we took

Build Understanding

Working closely with their leadership team, we reviewed existing research and conducted our own observational and social listening research. We used this as the basis to help identify strategic messaging that only The Beer Store could own.

Build Solutions

Together, we evolved the brand palette and in-store messaging to reflect our new strategic messages. We holistically looked at the customer’s shopping journey, including click-and-collect, recycling directives, and the implementation of kiosks. Core to our strategy was also infusing a new approachable personality into the space to be more inviting to our new customer targets.

Build Momentum

We worked closely with The Beer Store’s construction team to apply our concepts and activate 23 remodelled stores across Ontario in three months. Store renovations continue to ongoing and have had tremendous feedback from the leadership team and customers. This project was completed as part of a larger project with Reunion Inc.
